Being part of Olympic Games Paris 2024 experience

France will host the Olympic Games in 2024. On this occasion, many projects and sporting, educational and festive events will be organized throughout France during the year and the Games period.

The city of Libourne, located 30 kilometers from Bordeaux (south of France), has been labeled as a 2024 playground and several major Olympic and Paralympic teams in disciplines such as rowing or triathlon will train in our city during the year. In addition, the Olympic flame will pass through Libourne on May 23, 2024 and will be a great popular event.

In this context, our young association wants to organize a youth exchange project, including young people with fewer opportunities (but not only), to enable young people to take part in this unique experience and to reflect together on the values conveyed by the Olympic Games: friendship, respect, courage, equality, determination…

This exchange project will take place over 7 days.

It will focus on several activities:
– Ice Breaking activities to unite the multicultural group and make it efficient;
– meetings and debates with three personalities from the sports world on the values of Olympism;
– participation in concrete activities at the service of the collective and the community (development of know-how and essential skills for their integration project);
– meetings with sports associations and representatives of the municipality;
– sports initiation activities;
– city tour and excursions in Bordeaux;
– production of a journalistic production based on the elements collected by the participants: interviews, writing articles, photos.

The objectives of the project:

– support the development and enhancement of the skills of participants to make them actors in their own integration project;
– enable questions to emerge about identity, their place in society, their relationship with others and self-esteem;
– to allow work on otherness (to confront new environments, to develop their capacity for openness, in order to enable them to mobilize this competence in their integration journey);
– to experience a territory: by allowing the young people of Libourne to perfect their knowledge of their environment and to appropriate it to share it with others; for the young people of other countries, to apprehend a new environment and to integrate into it.
– expand their network by allowing them to meet local actors (associations, elected officials) and international.
