This project aims to get young people to know and appreciate the methods of participative democracy.

30 teenagers who live in the suburbs of Pisa and another city will take part in a range of activities based on non-formal education, in order to understand the value of the democratic system. For example they will have to reproduce the decision-making mechanisms discussing about problems they consider relevant for their communities, such as European citizenship, youth unemployment, social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities, enviromental protection, realisation of meeting places for young people. For their discussions they will use movies, TV-reports, song-lyrics and newspapers; all themes will be chosen by the partecipants and will be considered in a wider European perspective.

The project will last 8 months. The partecipants will meet twice, at the beginning and at the end; during the visits they will get to know the situation of the other city about the chosen themes and the administrative bodies such as the Parliament and local councils. Between the visits they will work in their countries with the help of a coach, using discussion, vote and work in mini-groups in order to concentrate on single themes. They will communicate with video-meetings, e-mails and social networks to find common solutions. The cooperation will be granted also by the fact that each city will have to solve a problem of the partner city. In addition they can organize meetings with professors and experts in order to deepen certain subjects.

The project will end with an Open Day in Pisa, where the participants will present the results of their work; local authorities and European deputies will be invited so they will get to know what young people would do for their city and will express their opinion about it.
The circulation of all activities will be granted by the presence of a journalist who will follow all steps of the project.
