PROJECT OBJECTİVE
We are concerned that in the last decade the number of disasters(natural and human induced) has risen whic has resulted in an increase in loss of lives, property and livehoods globally. Despite a lack of glabol data, specific reports from 2004 to 2014 showed that the normality rate of persons rate of persons with disabilities was 2-4 times greater than for other members of communities(Report on 2011 disaster of Japan)
Existing systems at national, regional and global leves are failing to ensure the participation, inclusion and mainstreaming of persons with disabilities in decision making processes within disaster risk managament.
Existing systems at national, regional and global leves are failing to ensure the participation, inclusion and mainstreaming of persons with disabilities in decision making processes within disaster risk managament. More than %85 of persons with disabilities from 137 countries, who participated in the first ever global survey ‘Living with Disability and Disasters’ conducted by UNISDR(Published 2014) stated that they had not participated in community based disaster risk managament and reduction processes. More than half of the survey respondents said they are keen to participate in such process
In situations of disaster and emergency, aid may not reach us called in firs 72 hours that called gold hours. Everyone should be prepared to be able to recover with a minimum loss this process. We can minimize the loss through some applications. As in all matters, handicapped should been prepared for this situation. So After disaster to don’t say that I wish, we should increase 'fortunatelies'
We aim to train disabled people about disasters, to raise awareness among disabled people, to reduce death rate of disabled people in natural disasters, to create awareness about problems that disable people face during natural disasters. Also, in this we can include disabled people.
THE RATIONALE OF THE PROJECT
The population of more than about 10% consists of disabled people and very person is at risk of becoming cripple through any traffic accident or natural disasters. Also every people will grow old and will have some obstacles. So We should show sensitivity in order to understand the difficulties that disabled people face without waiting to be like that.
