Overview: Development of short animated videos with emphasis on transitional periods and life planning tools for Autistic Spectrum Condition Individuals
Overview:
Development of short animated videos with emphasis on transitional periods and life planning tools. Using conclusions drawn from “Autism PCP” (http://www.autismholistic.eu/) project implementation, as well as the project’s intellectual outputs, the new step concentrates on depicting major barriers and issues characterizing specific stages of an autistic person’s life through a visual form, considered most advisable for the target population. Moreover, the videos will present structures and pathways to deal with transitions, suggesting various ways to attain a positive outcome through animated short stories.
Description: The project focuses on depicting the different ways through which an ASC person experiences periods of transition in his/her life together with proposing alternative pathways and structures so as to attain a positive outcome by means of designing short video stories where a vector plays the starring role as an autistic person. Through this visual representation of ways to plan, anticipate and overcome eventual difficulties, we aim at offering people all around the spectrum a range of models to deal with challenging situations. In other words, our goal will be twofold: mainly, attempt at seeing and dealing with the world through an autistic person’s viewpoint and secondly, present neurotypical people around the core person with an opportunity to empathize with them.
Animated videos will be characterised by the absence of any verbal or written language; however sound(s) can accompany each story, especially those that deal with sensory issues in order to underline eventual sensitivities.
Partnership constitution: project partners will be consisted by organisations associated scientifically, artistically or otherwise with ASC as well as organisations specializing in artistic creations, mainly in the animation and video production sector.
