Art therapy for the underprivileged

art therapy for the handicapped, cultural management, audience development

The Undergroundtheatre Eger Art Public Benefit Association (http://pinceszinhazeger.hu/ ) has been working since 1998 in Eger. Our association provides educational and cultural programs for educational institutions taking care of children with disability or handicap. Besides theater performances, folk dance classes and arts and craft workshops, we present new view of life for disabled and handicapped children using our art therapy which is also new methodology in pedagogy.
This art therapy was successfully applied to adults 3 years ago when we launched the Jail project cooperating with the County of Heves Law Enforcement Institute. The program is still running including art therapy classes for captive women .
We have launched a series of annual fine art meetings called Eger International Colony of Artists 3 years ago. Every year 10-12 well-known artists come to Eger from different cities and countries of Europe to work in Eger for a week and meet with other people working in different kind of art such as actors, musicians, dancers.
In collaboration with the Faculty of Art at the University of Kaposvár a new group, called Sit Down company, was started where where handicapped people can attend drama classes and perform in a professional environment
We would like to spread the idea that a piece can be also played by such people. We would like to find partners with similar way of thinking and we could work together to present good example for disabled and handicapped people in order that their dreams come true in an open minded thinking and recipient society.

We are looking for partners who could cooperate with us in fields like : changing of theaters plays, exchange of artists and cultural managers to have an insight into the life of other operators, art and drama therapies for the handicapped and prisioners to help their social reintegration, talent care of underprivileged young persons, to manage and operate colony of artists and workshops, audience development, mutual projects, workshops etc.

!!! We are looking for partners with at least two years of existence and activity in culture from EU member states only to apply for Creative Europe Culture Subprogramme (EACEA 29/2015) !!!
