Art-Sport Encounters
Art-Sport Encounters brought together 20 professional from 4 countries who met in Paris and visited places linked to theatre and sport and their local contexts.
In 2010, we created a theatrical production on the subject of football. This experience brought to light different cultural and social characteristics, shared by both artists and sportsmen.
The Rencontres Art-Sport enabled us to explore the links between art and sport, to understand and mix the viewpoints of professional artists and sports people so as to improve the ways of working in these two fields and encourage interdisciplinary collaborations.
Over the course of one week, 20 professionals from France, Estonia, Turkey and Algeria visited sites used for theatre and sports as well as their local contexts. These visits were an opportunity to discuss and conduct workshops. Each evening presentations of the participants works (readings, projections, filmed extracts…) were organised in a bar. The Rencontres closed with a banquet open to the public, punctuated by theatrical representations of the week’s work.
