Alter-Eco
Acquiring an environmental education by using non-formal methods and intercultural learning of young people using elements of the environment in youth work.
Period: 30 august – 8 september 2013
Location: Costinești, Romania
Target group: there will be 6 participants + 1 leader from each country and will also involve young people coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Funding: all costs will be covered, except 30% of travel costs. Participants must be able to buy their own tickets in advance.

This project relates to:
Action 3.1 (Cooperation with the Neighboring Partner Countries) and is focusing on:
• participation of young people
• social inclusion
• youth exchanges
• intercultural dialogue
• active citizenship and participation
Our main objectives are:
• to promote non-formal education,
• to develop participatory attitudes of young people over environmental issues, using methods of non-formal education,
• to make the participants aware of the impact that they have on the environment,
• teaching them what carbon footprint represents and how to calculate it and to give them the opportunity to develop their artistic / creative skills by making art materials with reference to seascapes, in order to support and preserve the marine ecosystem.
Activities: The activities will last 10 days and will be based on non-formal methods like open book, icebreaking games, theatre of statues and others, with reference to environmental issues.
