Adapting Agile & SCRUM for youth work: 8-day training to boost volunteer management, rapid feedback, and flexible projects
We are developing a project aimed at making youth work more efficient, flexible, and innovative by adapting proven methods from the software world—particularly the “SCRUM” framework—to the context of youth projects. During a six-day training course, participants will explore how short “sprints,” continuous feedback loops, and clearly defined responsibilities can be applied to challenges such as volunteer management, event planning, and project coordination. This initiative is designed under the Erasmus+ KA1 (Mobility of Youth Workers) program, and we are now looking for partner organizations that share our vision and wish to collaborate.
What We Plan to Do:
- Host a 6-day training ( +2 travel days) course featuring hands-on workshops and simulation exercises, enabling participants to experiment with Agile (SCRUM) methods in a practical setting.
- Together, we will discuss real-world issues in youth work—like volunteer coordination, budget constraints, and partner communication—and test how short sprints and iterative reviews can help address these challenges effectively.
-Following the training, we will compile the insights into guides, case studies, and best practices, ensuring the knowledge and tools developed reach beyond the immediate project group, benefiting a broader range of youth workers.
What we expect from our partners
- Participate in the identification of target groups and needs analysis before uploading the project; share challenges and insights from your own youth work experiences.
