Active for school

The ESC programme for volunteering (former EVS) is a great opportunity for young people. Nowadays many schools in Europe got the QL and are hosting volunteers within this framework. Since the school is a very formal institution without a youth work background, we face everyday missmatching between the aims of the European Volunteering and the understanding of tutor and mentors (who are generally teachers).
The project will consist of a 5-day international training for tutors, coordinators and mentors of the ESC volunteers who are hosted in schools.
The training will focus on the management of the international volunteers in school dynamics and on the benefits of the contribution of volunteers in a formal education institution. Each participant will be invited to share their own best practice/method of tutoring/mentoring/coordinating international volunteers. The method of presenting best practice must be creative and interactive.

Participants: 16 participants (7-8 organizations)

We are looking for partners with the following requirements that will be verified throught application form and interview:
- you are a school, NGO or an entity, involved in the ESC volunteering project at school as a partner or an applicant;
- the participants will be part of your organization and you will not fish participants in the web;
- the participants are tutor, mentor or project coordinator of an ESC-volunteering project
- you have the capacity to provide contribution to the timetable of activities. Your group will be responsible to facilitate an activity;
- participants are required to be fluent in English;
- you can react to our emails and other types of communication in real time;
- your group is committed to fully participate for the whole duration of the project;
- you will provide a proper pre-departure training;
- you are aware that youth worker training is not a holiday but a learning experience;
- you will be fully involved in the dissemination process in your country.
The participation is free of charge. There will be a selection process (application form and interview).

The project is only for EU countries.
