This call is only for NGOs, youth organisations or informal groups, not for
individuals or participants.
INCA Catalunya understands art and culture as an excellent tool for intercultural dialogue
and social integration. The “A-TEAM: Advanced Training on European Awareness” is a
project that aims to promote the European need of “interculturality” instead of
“multiculturality”. The “A-TEAM” intends to empower the European youth of being
promoters of educational and cultural activities providing them with specific tools based on
arts and creativity.
The “A-TEAM” project foresees three activities: a training course, an advanced
planning visit and a youth exchange.
The main topics of the project are the intercultural dialogue and the European awareness:
· To share the different “images” of “the other” in a European level. To reflect
around these different images, as well as the processes of intercultural dialogue
in Europe and their current challenges.
· To stimulate the exchange of experiences in an “intercultural” level between
youth coming from different European countries, as well as promoting the
exchange of good practices between different youth organizations that work with
tools based on arts and creativity.
· To stimulate the participants to develop specific competences based in arts and
creativity in order to allow more impact in their educational interventions.
· To promote the dialogue and the integration between youth of different
European countries.
· To encourage the use of arts and creativity as a tool for the development of
competences and individual and collective values.
· To promote the acknowledgement of Non-formal Education as a complementary
methodology to Formal Education.
The training course:
During the training course 24 participants will enjoy a stimulating environment, where they
will be able to learn and develop new competences through working methods based in arts
and creativity. They will discuss main themes of the project and they will have the
opportunity to practice what they learnt in the course. Sharing their experiences and their
ways of working they will design new initiatives with art and culture as main tools to
promote in youth a larger European awareness more open to a dialogue with other
cultures.
The youth exchange:
During the exchange, an important pedagogical approach is the “learning between
equals”: after the APV, each group of young people, supported by their team leader and
the pedagogical team of INCA Catalunya, will organise a session of the week schedule. In
this session they will share with the rest of participants their intercultural experiences of
their own country. This experiences linked with the work of the sending organisation and
the tools (tools based on art and creativity) that their organisation uses in the interventions
with youth. Each group will be responsible of “facilitating” the session, “underlining”
thereby the horizontality of the learning process.
