Established in 2001, ZUM is a youth association based in Pula (Croatia). We advocate youth empowerment and their active participation in society, with an emphasis on a common issue
- youth unemployment.
We have experience in (inter)national project management and the staff holds degrees in sociology, journalism and applied arts.
The association gained recognition on a local level with the project "Meeting of entrepreneurs and young professionals" and, throughout the years, we have become very recognisable among decision-makers on a regional and international level.
Since 2007 we have been carrying out the project Youth Info-Centre Pula. It aims to promote life-long learning and training through non-formal education, encourage active participation of young people in the local community and mobility opportunities.
The magazine 3ska!!! that we have been publishing since 2007 is the only media in the county created by youth for youth, while also being freed from any commercial content.
We are members of the Croatian Youth Network (national youth council), the Community of information centres for young people in Croatia and the Eurodesk network (partners).
Our youth exchange Youth Journalism Academy was based on new media tools, journalism and critical thinking and it was held in Å tinjan (Croatia) in March 2016.
We coordinate volunteers on the local level and last year we hosted two EVS volunteers in our association as well. A new generation of EVSers is joining us in October 2017.
This project is about sustainable living, environmental issues and DIY (do-it-yourself) practical projects.
