Zefiro Società cooperativa sociale

Zefiro is a cooperative society situated in Lucca.

In 2008 a group of people with experience in vocational training, school, and educational and psychological services, decided to put their passions and professionalisms together: Zefiro was born.

Zefiro aspires to operate following principles of solidarity and democracy, being territory linked.
The cooperative works to improve services and enhance opportunity for adults, women, young people, and for who is in a difficult situation whether temporary or not. Moreover, Zefiro offers guidance to help people to be more aware of their possibilities and of the services present on the territory.

Our activities go from information desks and counselling services in secondary schools, to organization of training courses and spare time activities.

What we aim at?
Keeping in mind the community wellness, Zefiro aims at pursuing human promotion and social integration, through the following activities:
management of various services: informative, vocational guidance, health and social, educational, and family mediation;
training paths, heading toward adult education, concerned learning of computer skills, literacy and health promotion;
supporting in work placement;
creating social inclusion paths for disadvantaged people through training, work and social experiences.

Officina B & Associati

In 2009 was born “Officina B & Associati”, a little communication agency made up of photographers and graphic designers coming from disadvantaged situation.

The agency arose from a project in collaboration with the local health authority which organized photograph courses designed to lead toward a work placement. After the training, Zefiro hired four of the users to create “Officina B & Associati”. Here the members can experience a real working environment and teamwork, and start to deal with marketplace demands. They realise graphic and communication products as posters, leaflets, brochure, recipe books and full photographic services. Furthermore, they join our psychologists in secondary school group activities.

We are one, but we have two souls...
Zefiro includes two souls: the social cooperative and the training agency . Both of them, even if following different paths, are designed to enhance people opportunities of personal and working achievement.

The social soul

Our staff has long experience concerning social projects and information points targeted at youth. Nevertheless, we are fond of approaching projects growing and improving through a constant collaboration with the other realities on the territory. Specifically, we are operating in the following services:

Informations and help desks: we run youth information centres and women information centres in Lucca, Capannori e Porcari, which are part of a bigger network with centres located all over Italy. Here we provide guidance and orientation among the opportunities territory offers, for what is concerned education, training, job, spare time and international experiences.

Family mediation help desks and service: we run a family mediation help desks, where we provide information and guidance about a possible family mediation path to parents who intend to separate, or already separated/divorced. In case they decide to start the path, we offer a mediation service where they find assistance in handling the situation, and in developing a lasting life program for their children to keep on being parents even in this tricky time.

Students help desks: we have help desks located in various secondary schools. They are run by counsellors, psychologists and vocational trainers who help adolescents to define goals and solve personal and scholastic problems or just to give heed to their experiences and reflections.

Family support groups: groups aimed at emphasizing resources comparison. The groups, managed by facilitators, allow participants to discover new possible points of view and solutions through the comparison. We run groups composed by parents whether divorced or not, and broken home children.

Youth activities: we offer spaces where middle and high school students can stay together and different cultures and races meet each other. Students can find both support with homework and group activities to improve their social and aggregation skills and their active participation in the community.
