Youth Season Association

Youth Season Association „Genclik Mevsimi Dernegi” is a non-profit and non-governmental organization which was founded in 03.01.2014 by active in youth area and volunteer young people in Istanbul, Turkey.

Our aim in setting up the Association is to support the development of young people around us. We started with ourselves first to encourage them to develop in new areas. Because youth season is our most active time to learn and develop to our future. the seeds, which planted during youth season, are shed light on the future. Research, knowledge, practice and teamwork is the character of our association. NGO's logo was inspired by this.

Our Mission is arranging activities that support youth’s personal and physiological development and to contribute to the development of a youth that can generate a solution for the problems around them.

Aims of Our association statute;
1. To encourage the youth to active in civil society and develop themselves and civil society. to work with organizations and people who work on this issue;
2. To contribute to the improvement of youth policy;
3. To rapprochement between youth organizations establish solidarity and ensure the realization of cooperation for more active on world peace, environmental and social development;
4. Build local, national and international partnerships to improve the European Union and the United Nations norms, to produce and implement functional and professional projects;
5. To make joint efforts on social responsibility programs, with Other NGOs;
6. To support and guidance, individuals, NGO, SME, corporate who wish to use the offered funds,
7. Using our international connection in the provision of professional training and research initiatives;
8. Using the methods of Non-formal and formal education to organize social activities to benefit of the community and especially youth;

The Association makes the following activities to achieve the above objectives:
1. Work with international youth organizations organize youth exchanges, youth initiatives and intercultural dialogue programs;
2. Work with other democratic institutions to protect youth rights in democratic environment and doing work in this area;
3. Organize workshops which will allow to understand the concept of active citizenship for youth;
4. Organize international activities with foreign associations or organizations, build partnership and take action on their activities;
5. To ensure solidarity among youth and committed to protect and improve democratic rights and freedoms,
6. To address the social and economic problems of the people with disabilities and to strengthen the communication between us;
7. To organize scientific and social debate for youth practices and problems;
8. To address the youth unemployment problem and seek solutions;
9. Work on create youth, modern and have knowledge of world history;
10. Work with foreign education consultancy and postgraduate organizations;
11. To guide youth every area and organize meetings for take information, feedback and comments;
12. Organize conferences, seminars, cultural event and trainings;
13. Participate in Travel, theatre, arts and cultural activities;
14. Organizing nature camps and scouting activities;
15. Organize sport activities for the physical development of youth;

Under these aims we have special aims:
1. Contribute to social, cultural, artistic, athletic, scientific and professional development of youth;
2. Increase and spread of knowledge;
3. Create content that educates, informs and inspires;
4. Inspire and empower youth people to be active in social life and strengthen our communities;
5. Increase the participation of youth to social and economic life actively;
6. Bring up young leaders;
7. Help young people to develop critical thinking;
8. Support them to make their own decisions;
9. Promote a healthy lifestyle among young people;
10. Build healthier lives;
11. Raise awareness about environment and encourage to protect it;
12. Reinforce the empathy among youth, develop cooperation and tolerance;
13. Unite young people from different spheres and social backgrounds;
14. Fight against all forms of discrimination and promote the value of equality;
15. Be multipliers of programme “Erasmus+” and introduce opportunities it provides with people;
16. Inspire and spread our vision and mission with other non-profit organizations;

Our target groups are mainly young people with fewer opportunities. We also focus on refugees who live in Turkey. Our members gather every month to take up new ideas and think how to put them into practice. We sincerely believe that the young people today can make a difference and we all work for this purpose.
