Youth for Youth Foundation

Youth for Youth Foundation (TpT) Romania is a national, non-governmental, independent, nonpolitical, nonprofit and voluntary based association founded in 1991 aimed at tackling social issues of Romanian youth. Currently, Youth for Youth Foundation run its programs in Bucharest and other 14 districts of Romania: Botoşani, Braşov, Brăila, Constanţa, Dâmboviţa, Ialomiţa, Iaşi, Ilfov, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Teleorman, Tulcea, Timiş and Vaslui.

Youth for Youth Foundation is active in the health education field and our priorities are best decribed by the following concepts: youth, individual responsibility and performance. The main approach in reaching youth is peer education, involving peer leaders in the non-formal education process.

In the 2007-2013 timeframe, TpT implemented several projects in the fields of youth, non-formal education/ extracurricular activities, health education and active citizenship (volunteering and peer-education).

TpT is the main partner of the Ministry of National Education in the National Health Education Program and starting with 1991, we have continuously developed and implemented quality projects recognized at national and international level:
- 2012 – 1st Prize - Best Educational Project / Volunteering Awards – ”Life and Individual Responsibility Education through Active Citizenship programmes for Romanian Youth” – European Social Fund / ID: 56656
- 2011 – 1st Prize - Best Health Project/Volunteering Awards – ”Comprehensive approaches in HIV prevention in Romania” – EEA Grants
- 2011 – 1st Prize – Best project addressing Youth / Civil Society Awards – ”Comprehensive approaches in HIV prevention in Romania” – EEA Grants
- 2010 – 1st Prize – Best project in the field of Education and Research / Civil Society Awards - ”Increasing access to sexual and reproductive health education and youth-friendly services” – UNFPA ROU1R205
- 2009 – Health Excellency Prize / ”Carol Davila” Awards Ceremony – ”STI/HIV/AIDS prevention through behaviour change communication programmes” – Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria H17O1A1

In terms of financial capacity, TpT contracted - over the past 7 years - 10 mil. EUR in projects addressing youth individual responsibility under the following mechanisms: European Social Fund, EEA Grants, Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, United Nations Population Fund, European Commission – Youth in Action.
