Youth Coop

Youth Coop is a non-profit cooperative active since 2016 in the social solidarity sector and acting in the Sintra municipality, the suburbs of Lisbon.

Our mission is to empower youth and youth structures through the development of initiatives to support personal, social and cultural development, with a focus on civic education, promotion of youth participation, intercultural learning and a community-centred approach through non-formal education methodologies.

We are a team of enthusiastic youth workers aiming to contribute to the development of the full potential of young people and inspiring a generation for a better society with higher levels of civic participation, tolerance and inclusion. The specific social context we work on is in Sintra, a mix of rural, but mostly sub-urban territory, being the municipality with the highest number of young people in Portugal and a population that has a strong immigrant presence from former colonies.

We have a focus on the development of local activities and projects for youth but we also have an international dimension through the Eramus+ project. If you are looking for a organization that works with youth from heavily urban contexts, please contact us.
