The Volunteer Singers of St Panteleimon Church in Kalamaria was founded in October 2000. It consists of pupils and students of the Youth choir of the parish of St. Panteleimon Kalamaria. The purpose of the group is the musical development of its members through choral singing and creating a culture cell dissemination and exploitation of Greek music delivery and development of music education. We have presented a series of innovative concerts and recordings, which were issued under the aegis of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki in digital form and marketed as educational material in Greece and abroad, including: CD Greece Matrix Heroes, DVD Apostle Paul, DVD Concert Tribute to Mother. We have worked and we collaborate with the Chanters Sacred of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Music School of Thessaloniki in the European project of innovative actions giving concerts, and also with the International Book Fair of Thessaloniki. Recently in 2010 we gave concerts in Italy and Instanbul. Important addition to the objectives of the group is participating in charity events, visits to hospitals and institutions aiming at a multidimensional spiritual cultivation and cultural activities. Additionally it should be noted that our group has members with vissually impairment and we have created a digital music library that allows transferation of music into an electronic Braille format.
Music can be considered as an international language. There are a lot of similarities between the traditional music of each country. In this Project, each partner will present traditional music, hymns and traditional instruments from each country. We have already partners from Turkey and Cyprus
