“The Work in Progress Pietramelara” is a social promotion association based in Pietramelara, Via S. Leonardo 30.
Pietramelra is a mountain village of about 4500 inhabitants. Is an agricultural community but with a strong artistic, historical, cultural and natural heritage. It has a beautiful castle, in which rise the old medieval city. Behind the city is located Mount Maggiore a mountain of 1,000 meters where there are a lot of Roman and other ancient civilization ruin.
“The Work in Progress” is engaged in the development of cultural, historical and artistic and at the same time is engaged in the social, welfare, health and also promotes scientific research and training in the cultural sphere. The purposes of “the Work in Progress” are purely those of: exploitation, conservation, preservation, restoration and recovery of the heritage and historical, artistic, cultural, archaeological and artistic treasures present in the territory of the “north Caserta”. In this sector, the association aims to: promote and enhance the area of the high Caserta; implemented at international, national, regional outreach programs, tourist and cultural science for schools, universities, non-EU students and citizens in general;social solidarity, social and health care, health care. In this area in particular the Association aims to promote, establish and administer facilities and services habilitation, rehabilitation, health, educational, social and educational, recreational / engines, sports. Moreover management of nursing homes for the elderly and shelter for pregnant women, mothers and women in distress; community housing for disabled people, minors at risk; community care for children; communities for the reintegration of drug addicts; community for immigrants in difficulties; after-school and support school activities; community guardian for dependent persons. Promoting the integration of immigrants to difficulties, promoting their social and work, providing social and health care, social welfare and so on. Facilitate meetings between people and groups with different cultural routes promoting their specificity; contribute to the culture of solidarity, reception and integration.
The cultural and professional training and scientific research. In this area: to promote, establish, administer organisms editorials for publication and dissemination of information dealing with issues, studies, observations on social, artistic, historical, cultural, welfare etc .... establish literary cafes for its members; establish and manage public and private libraries.
“The Work in Progress” throughout the year carries out various activities to promote the area, the culture and the protection of the natural and artistic heritage. Are carried out days of culture. During these days the members of the association in collaboration with other local associations provide to welcome tourists, to organize exhibitions, to promote the artistic heritage. A very important event is the day of the mountain, where our association provides to do tours that leave from the city center to reach the top of Mount Maggiore. On that day, visitors have the opportunity to explore and visit the mountain.
