"White Cane" NGO

Many years of experience in collaborating with different NGOs have manifested a lot of unresolved issues particularly among people with disabilities, youth (in the regions youth awareness, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and having an inclusive society) and in the field of ecology. Having ideas and a sense of high responsibility for settling these matters, we came to a conclusion to found (establish) a non-governmental organization.
In the beginning of 2019, we founded (established) the “White Cane” non- governmental organization.
One of the achievements of the organization is the membership of more than fifty volunteers.
In 2019 the organization had implement two grant programs(projects).
We have implemented youth inclusive campaigns with the funding of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. The campaigns were carried out in four regions: Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, Tavush and Lori.
With the funding of the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation, we have launched a youth eco-campaign pilgrimage. Within the framework of which inclusive seminars were held on the promotion of ecology and healthy lifestyle among young people. The project was implemented in Kotayk region and Yerevan.
In 2020, we held a youth entertainment event on the occasion of the Old New Year in Charentsavan. Throughout the year, we have provided social law advice and conducted distance learning courses in the IT field for the visually impaired. No other activities have been carried out because of COVID-19 and the war.
In 2021, as a part of our partnership with the Fundacja HumanDoc Foundation we have been implementing an accessibility programme across borders for advancing the information accessibility for the deaf and the blind people (Accessibility across borders. Development of information accessibility for the deaf and blind person), within the frameworks of which on May 8 - 12 in Georgia along with a five-member multidisciplinary delegation we participated in the first international meeting in support of the blind and the deaf people of the South Caucasus.
In 2019, the organization implemented two grant programs.

a) Implemented inclusive youth campaigns funded by the Ministry of Sports and Youth. Campaigns were carried out in four marzes.

b) With the financing of the Armenian "Round Table" Foundation, the Youth Eco-Camping Pilgrimage was implemented. In the framework of which, inclusive seminars were held to promote environmental protection and healthy lifestyle among young people. In the course of 2020, he did social law consulting and distance learning for people with visual problems in the IT field.

In 2021, as a partner organization, FundacjaHumanDoc implemented the Accessibility across borders. Development of information accessibility for the deaf and blind person program, within the framework of which May 8-12 In Georgia, a five-person multidisciplinary delegation participated in the first international meeting on the topic of support for blind and deaf people in the South Caucasus and in the "Accessibility without borders" training.

13.12.2021 organized a round table meeting-discussion, in which foreign experts, representatives from relevant state departments and local NGOs participated, on the topic of "Access to information for people with visual and hearing problems".

02:2022 According to the decision of Charentsavan Council of Elders, the organization was allocated an area for the purpose of establishing a development center for children with disabilities.

From October 1, 2022, the program "Enhancing Digital Literacy of Visually Impaired People in Armenia" is implemented with the funding of the small grants program of the Democratic Commission of the US Embassy.

In 2023, the student program "We are together" will be implemented by the "EU for the youth" program of the EPF, the RBGH and the HRK. Student democracy now" within the framework of the project financed by the European Union.
