WAMALA YOUTH 4 DEVELOPMENT

Wamala Youth 4 Development Ltd (WAY4DE) is a local Non-Governmental Organization by guarantee (NGO) that was established in the year 2020.The organization proceeded out of an academic research paper on “Role of Youth Groups in Development of their Communities” by the founding members. The organization was therefore established in response to the findings of the study that established that youth groups play a significant role in the development of their communities.
We believe that an empowered youth is capable of creating a huge impact and implementing sustainable development for a bright future. We advocate for the rights of young people aged 13 to 35 years by achieving our main goal of capacity building through skills development.

Mission Statement
To transform the lives of youth, women and children by engaging communities, state and non-state actors in sustainable socio-economic empowerment and livelihoods, health initiatives, capacity building, governance and advocacy.

Objectives
• To promote talent development among youths i.e. Music, Dance and Sports.
• To empower children, young people and the wider families to get involved in efforts to address socio-economic, environmental and developmental issues that are affected them such as poverty, unemployment, poor food security and poor environmental management.
• To sensitize the youth about the their personal health care to avoid killers diseases, HIV/AIDS, early marriages and unwanted children
• To engage the children and young people both males and females in Sport & recreational activities and providing life skills trainings in behavior shaping character and talent development.
• To provide relevant information that will empower the youth community to make informed choices in relation to their health and also lobby and advocate for fair policies and laws that affect the daily life of the community through research, networking and strategic alliance building
• To promote gender equity among children, young women, families and community for inclusive development.
• To provide to young people with friendly community counseling and medical services to urban and with more emphasis on the children and young people
• To provide technological training and opportunities for youth that will better lives through ICT
• To organize training workshops, international volunteer opportunities, seminars, study tours, sporting and recreational activities and other related opportunities to provide information, education and communication activities in our holistic approach on social, economic, health and environmental issues with other organizations.
