Wahoe commune is a registered NGO and is a place where every one of every cast,color and creed is accepted. It aims to help children and women through education and empowerment. Wahoe commune is offering many different ways of helping these people including education, women empowerment, spirituality and nutrition. These 4 things are seen a way of alleviating poverty and allowing the people to grow in confidence and personality. It was set up in 2003 and since then has grown in the numbers of pupils, teachers and volunteers and also continues to have social worker, charity travel planners, spiritual practitioners and musicians. Here are examples of the people within wahoe commune who are offering their skills. Harpreet kour is the principal of wahoe education school and her primary aim is to provide quality education. Shri Gajan Singh is a spiritual person, he teaches music to the children and runs open meditation courses every evening along with much needed nutritional and health support to the children in Delhi and Siri village. Mehar Singh runs Wahoe India Travel in Shimla,Manali and Delhi and help Wahoe commune by donating his profits to the projects.Gurvinder,Pawan,Sonia,Suman,Ashu,Chaman,Surinder,Surinder Thankur,Ravinder,Maninder,Manoj Arora, Santan , Bhupinder Gupta, Sandeepan Kour,Shivi Kashyap, Raju,Harpreet Kour, Nisha Arora, Rahul, Deepak, Aruna Khanna,Kailash khatri, Shri Arjun Dass,Situ,Parveen kaur,Amrit Khanna,Kehar Singh, Jitender chawla,Mamta, Gyani Devi,Vipin,Munna, Baby,Simran along with other volunteer staff are there to fulfill a life long dream. There are number of different projects offered at Wahoe commune in Different places in India and Nepal which include
-Children and women's education in English, Math and Hindi
-Women's sewing lessons, nutrition and health advise
-Computer lessons
-Open meditation
-Community kitchen
-Conservation Programmed in Himalayas (plastic free Himalayas)
Wahoe commune relies on the help of volunteers and is enthusiastic to receive them for any amount of time. Volunteers help with classes twice a day and do other work such as leafleting in the local area and computer work. In their spare time, they can visit the sites of cities, hiking in the villages, safari in desert, walk aroud slum in Delhi, cleaning plastic garbage in mountains, enjoy a chai or explore spiritualism with the knowledgeable teacher .
