Volunteering Development Foundation/ Fundacja Rozwoju Wolontariatu (FRW)

FRW is providing and creating the necessary conditions for the development of systematic, long-lasting and knowledge based volunteering programs. The foundation is promoting the idea of volunteering in Poland as we believe that it is an effective form of building social capital. Therefore we especially focus on educating and increasing the awareness about the positive effects from volunteering work throughout various environments- students, employers, social communities and local authorities.

Our main program, Projektor, which is conducted since 2003, allows to redress equal educational opportunities for children and adolescents in Poland through educational projects which are implemented in schools by volunteering students. Thanks to the student’s knowledge and skills, children experience how important learning and development is. Since 2002 over 23,000 educational projects have been carried out in around 1900 Polish schools, involving nearly 7000 students.
Through our projects we aim to support the development of prospective leaders in Poland, prevent social exclusion by leveling educational opportunities, increase social integration and build needed social capital.
