The “Villa delle Ginestre” Rehabilitation Center is authorized to provide services aimed at individuals suffering from physical, mental and sensory pathologies in an outpatient,
domiciliary and semi-visa regime in agreement with the National Health Service - NHS. For Psychotherapy treatments not authorized by the NHS are provided privately. The most
common pathologies treated are : mental retardation, motor disabilities of neurological and orthopedic origin, chromosomal syndromes, encephalic damage, cognitive, emotional and
behavioral disorders, neuropsychological disorders, sensory and neurosensory disorders, communication disorders, learning disorders. Villa delle Ginestre is the logical evolution of a
know-how acquired in more than 20 years of activity and has become over time more and more a concrete answer for all patients and their families who have difficulty in finding
qualified facilities.
The Villa delle Ginestre Center is a state-of-the-art, capacious and multi-purpose structure, with equipment, facilities and technological resources to perform all the services provided.
The structure guarantees access and complete usability of the spaces by all disabled users, also through specific structures (Loges system, for the blind, and visuo-tactile maps with
Braille language). The structure used for outpatient services, is particularly taken care of in the choice of furniture, materials and colors, is used for the provision of services aimed at
users for both the age and the adult: Physiokinesitherapy, massage therapy, Laser , Ultrasounds, Magneto, Tecarecc., motor and neuromotor rehabilitation, individual speech therapy,
group speech therapy, individual occupational therapy, neuro-psychomotor rehabilitation, individual psychomotricity, group psychomotility, psychotherapy, treatments are also provided
at home. The company is ISO 9001 certified.
In recent years, Villa delle Ginestre has started an intense research activity, which has produced important changes in the models of delivery and service, with impacts on patients,
their families and, last but not least, on professionals, allowing them to formulate an extremely advanced and qualified therapeutic proposal. In particular, since 2017 the center has
launched an R&D project called “BRAVO - BEYOND THE TREATMENT OF THE ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER”. The BRAVO system aims at providing support
for the treatment of children with learning difficulties caused by various types of problems (ADHD, autism, etc.) through an advanced play environment. The system uses the
electroencephalographic trace, the electro-dermal variations and the heart rate to evaluate the emotional state of the little patient and on the basis of these data regulates the difficulty
of the activities proposed to the users in the games. During gaming sessions, bio-feedback and gaming performance are recorded and processed so that healthcare professionals can
detect how players are making progress in learning and in their ability to manage their emotions. As an additional element of motivation and stimulus to sociability, the BRAVO system
allows the young patient to interact with 3D avatars located within the therapeutic facility, which welcome and accompany him along the therapeutic path. For the BRAVO project, Villa
delle Ginestre was awarded as excellence of the SMAU Innovation Award during SMAU Milan 2018 edition. In 2018, Villa delle Ginestre activated a new line of R&D for the
development of the AVATEA system, a semi-robotized and sensorized platform , in combination with the use of immersive reality techniques, for the rehabilitation of children suffering
from motor pathologies.
In 2019, Villa delle Ginestre launched the WorkABLE project: development of skills of adult educators to support the employment of people with mental disabilities, lasting two years,
for which it obtained a grant from the European Commission under the Erasmus + program, Strategic partnerships for innovation in adult education. The idea comes from the
observation of the lack of a specific professional figure (the "Job Coach") in the Italian and European panorama. The project aims at defining, implement and deliver training for
professionals of adult education in order to convey to them the skills necessary for the all-round accompaniment in the world of work of individuals with intellectual disabilities and
autism spectrum disorders. The pilot version of the course will be tested by the project partners themselves (training and work placement centers in the treatment of disability from
Romania, Slovenia, Cyprus and Italy), for subsequent distribution to the public.
