Vektor ry

Vektor ry is a volunteer-led youth and family organization founded in 2024 in Lappeenranta, Finland. Our mission is to support the development, wellbeing and social participation of children, young people and young adults, with particular attention to immigrant-background and multilingual families.

Our activities include youth life-skills clubs, workshops on confidence, communication, critical thinking and goal-setting, educational and language support, reading and creative activities, low-threshold sports and outdoor programs, cultural events, parental support and volunteer development. We create safe and inclusive environments where young people can express themselves, develop new skills, build relationships and participate actively in their community.

We also work to strengthen family relationships, promote integration and equality, improve access to local opportunities and prevent loneliness and exclusion from hobbies and community life. Our methods combine non-formal education, peer learning, practical exercises, games, group discussions, creative activities and community events.

Vektor ry cooperates with the City of Lappeenranta, local and national NGOs, educational actors, the Finnish Association of Russian-speaking Organisations and Finland’s Advisory Board for Ethnic Relations (ETNO).

We are interested in Erasmus+ cooperation related to youth participation, inclusion, multilingual identity, wellbeing, media literacy, life skills, intercultural learning, volunteering and the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. We are looking for reliable European partners with whom we can exchange methods and develop meaningful international youth projects.
