USability Poland

We met during a youth exchange in Italy and with no doubt realized that such experiences are supposed to be available to more people all around Europe. An idea of an informal group developed with the help and support of the Cosmos Cooperativa's coordinator Francesca Defelice, a person who enabled us to participate in the exchange.

Inspired by the idea of Erasmus+ programme, we took part in other projects in order to get to know how they may differ and how the topics are carried out. In the meantime, we took courses on the subject of leadership and gained experience as team leaders.

Our informal group aims to unite like-minded people together, as well as create a common space for exchange of experiences, beliefs on subjects crucial to adolescents . We believe we can do that through our actions, such as Youth Exchanges, meetings and outdoor activities.

The name of the informal group consists of our main objectives that are: abilities of which existence everyone should be capable of and the very much needed sense of community for young people. Unlikely, we see that many people are afraid to participate in international projects or are scared of commitment. Moreover, some of them are not able to openly speak about their abilities or use them. In the world where usually people tend to focus on disabilities and exclusion is an extremely common thing, we want to enable youth participating in projects of our group to find out more about themselves. We strive to help them discover their qualities, as well as give them knowledge on how to use their strengths on a daily basis. By meetings and activities, we are determined to create a community where nobody is alone. It is well known that due to COVID-19 pandemics, many people have problems with socialization and what is more, the majority of youths spend most of their time alone or feeling lonely. With USability we are willing to deal with it and show that everyone is needed and welcomed. We know that with the combination of "US"- people who want to make some change and all the "abilities" we can create something that would be a true "USability".

Our team consists of four people who gathered together to do something for others. Each of us has different responsibilities. Kosma Szczyrski manages finances, Zuzanna Kowalewska is a person who stands behind communication and social media, Izabela Ptach is in charge of promotion and proliferation and Igor Świechowicz supervises development and partnership selection.
