University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin

University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin (WSEI) is a non-state higher education institution, funded in 2001, that offers full university degree programmes in a range of academic disciplines. With over 5 000 students (of which approx. 80 % extramural learners), is a nationally recognized university, demonstrating a commitment to engage in partnerships with EU organizations and institutions to support education, training and research.

WSEI offers a distinctive educational experience, through a range of vocationally related courses/undergraduate, graduate & postgraduate courses, incl. economics, management, computer science, supported by a strong research and knowledge transfer activities (Centre for Information Technology and Transport Safety).

The mission of WSEI is to prepare the highly qualified professionals, who will be able to meet European standards and who then reinforce the human resources potential and enhance the capacity of local government institutions in terms of public finance management, strategic planning or absorption and management of EU funds. In the context of economic development of the region those mentioned areas of activities are the key challenges that the public and private sector is to face in the next few years.

The Centre for Projects and International Cooperation is a unit established under the WSEI structures in October 2004. The main idea was to create an unit, which would be responsible for preparing and implementing projects co-financed from EU funds, and at the same time would be able to establish and maintain relations with the academic and business sector in Poland and across Europe.

In its daily activities Centre works closely with a number of national and international institutions, such as: labour market institutions, enterprises, territorial self-government units, education institutions, research centres, NGOs and many other. The results of this cooperation and implemented projects, as well as their positive impact on labour and educational market is clearly seen, these are e.g: economic development of the region through increasing human potential, upgraded general level of education, increased employment and adaptability of the employees, reduced areas of social exclusion and popularization of the general knowledge about benefits coming from EU funds, promotion of innovativeness in learning and teaching, development of new teaching methods and tools.

In the last programming cycle 2007-2013 the Centre has been involved in about 40 national projects, with the total amount of PLN 160 millions and 21 international projects, with the total amount of 1.891.141,41 EURO

• Information & training projects

University of Economics and Innovation is interested in different types of cooperation:

- VET services all types of training activities for youth and youth workers,
- projects related to innovation, development of new solutions and initiatives in education and labour market,
