When it comes to the goals and aims of the Youth Department (Ung Fritid), the idea is to focus on the following:
- Run open youth work practices that provide conditions for meaningful leisure time, and that stimulate and enrich young people’s social development;
- Offer an inclusive set of activities that promote democratic values and that promote active participation based on the voluntary involvement;
- Give more opportunities to young people to express their opinions and influence the decision making on the youth related matters;
- Develop programs oriented towards prevention of drug abuse, youth criminal, and unfavorable social development;
