UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki

UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki is a youth local organization, no profit and no governmental, member of the Greek UNESCO network. Started in 2004 and participates in a number of activities linked with young people. Works under the principals and the guidelines of UNESCO and tries to emphasize and focus on youth people.

In the last 6 years the organization support and organize a lot of activities in the framework of culture, education, and science. The organization was active in the “Youth” , “Youth in Action”, Med and Phare programmes of the European Union.

We are part of the UNESCO youth network and in cooperation with other UNESCO Youth Clubs of SEE region we are part of initiatives about the problems of the young people but we mainly focus on the youth cooperation in the region.

From 2006, UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki is part of the international YouthNET network.
From 2008, UNESCO Youth Club of Thessaloniki is member of the Greek National Youth Council.

The organization has a big network of volunteers, supporters and members and in cooperation with other NGOs, social initiatives and partners participates in a number of open events, exhibitions and activities for young people in the city of Thessaloniki but also in the neighbor cities.

The organisation has a monthly electronic newsletter and more than 6000 members received the electronic newsletter, with information about youth policy from European Union, Council of Europe, U.N. and of course UNESCO.
