Uganda Youth Skills Training Organization (UYSTO) has been founded 10 years ago on these principles and continuously promotes an ethos of social change starting at a very young age in school, and outside school.it was founded by a committed team of Engineers, teachers and technicians.
In accordance with the national need of vocational training for economic development, and the way it has been seen by society in the past few years and all this reached through informing, educating, training and advocating.
We aim at facilitating a belief that vocational training will offer youth the chance to secure jobs faster, to be self-reliant, establish their own business and in turn, commit to a more systematized change in Uganda, starting from youth who believe, who can, and who do.
And at the core of our thematic areas of interventions, it is a partnership for sustainable development, which is based on 3 directions:
1.Creating an infrastructure of vocational training within the Ugandan Educational system.
2.Facilitating access to vocational training by providing training to youth in and out of school.
3.Increasing international awareness and collaborating with companies and organizations that socially and economically want to invest, improve and empower young people’s youth’s and women lives for attaining sustainable development in Uganda.
Our mission is to contribute to the improvement of young people's,youths' and women lives through school,community based education and other innovative ventures for sustainable development.
Through our projects and partnerships, we are addressing some of the current challenges within the sustainable development goals formerly Millennium Development Goals, such as:
– Eradicating Extreme Poverty
– Promote Gender Equality and empower women
– Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
– Ensure Environmental Sustainability as well as attaining quality education through hands-on skills and our objectives are:
1.To equip the youths with vocational and technical skills.
2.To contribute towards environmental conservation.
3.To provide financial,materials and moral support to vulnerable youth groups.
Through all the above, we hope that Uganda and the world at large,under consortium will acquire knowledge and know-how to handle business opportunities for future job endeavors.
Reduction of economic losses due to climate related disasters and advocating for low-carbon development initiatives among communities of partner countries
Emphasizing of road safety precaution observations & formation of research on other undefined accident causes into which road traffic injuries can be mitigated.
Empowering unemployed youths to start own initiatives and be able to contribute in strengthening their nations’ social-economic sustainability development.
To create awareness, increase knowledge and competences to the target communities on hands-on skills as a tool to development.
