UCARLI YOUTH ORGANISATION

Ucarli Genclik Dernegi, UGD in short in Turkish, is the youth led organisation in Diyarbakir, south-eastern part of Turkey. It was founded in 2011 and has been working actively in social responsibility projects as well as European Dimensional ones. It is run by students, volunteers, teachers and trainers. Whilst the members are widely interested in youth related issues-changing from gender equality to anti-discrimination, they are also glocalism oriented which means they have the motto of “think global act local”.

Ucarli Genclik Dernegi (Ucarli Youth Organisation) as in short called UGD, interiorizes the 8 Millennium Development Goals as well as European Values ; furthermore, it shares these principles with its members and volunteers and in all its settings while working. Ucarli Genclik Dernegi, is located in Diyarbakir which is one of the undeveloped city despite its a 2 million population. Although our target group may be defined as young people between age of 12 to 30 we do not limit the active participation of any person in working with and for young people. Since the region, in particular the city Diyarbakir, is one of the most disadvantaged place in Turkey, our activities are ipso facto arranged on the ways to include and integrate young people and equip them with self-motivation and self-esteem. Last but not the least, we arrange training courses on PCM (project cycle management), Youth Programs (aka Erasmus+); we do and partake in seminars and study visits as well as drama and audio-visual media
