TUIK ANTALYA REGIONAL STATISTICS OFFICE

Turkish Statistical Institute was founded in 1389 with the name of “Defterhane”and made its first successful census in 1831. In 1962, as the State Institute of Statistics affiliated with the Prime Ministry arrangements were made tomeet today's needs and to carry forward the progressive structure. In 2005, with Turkish Statistical Law No. 5429, The Central Organization and NUTS2 level 26 region were restructured. With the new law, Turkish Statistical Institute has been working with a total of 3768 staff, in centre and in 26 regional offices, with mainly 2045 Interviewers, 449 experts, 47 Assistant experts, 713 technical staff (statisticians, mathematicians, engineers, programmers, etc.) and 22 sociologists.
The mission of our institution is, by taking into account the national and international users' needs and priorities, to produce qualified, timely, reliable, consistent,and objective statistics in line with international standards and to make them available and ensure coordination between agencies involved in the process of compiling offical statistics .
Our institution is a reputable institution at international level which produces data at international standards and quality, and has the vision to build a user-oriented, sustainable statistical system, which not deviates from the scientific principles and methods.
