Trabzon University, Faculty of Education, Department of Special Education, started education in 1998. Our mission is to train competent teachers and experts to work in the field of Special Education in our country by conducting programs for undergraduate and graduate degrees; by making the highest use of modern educational technologies; to contribute to universal knowledge by carrying out theoretical and practical studies together, while at the same time developing reasonable solutions for the education and independent lives of individuals with special needs. The vision of the special education department is to train teachers who are committed to professional ethics, who understand the human being and contribute to the development of their personality as a whole, and who continue scientific research and publication activities aiming to enable individuals with special needs to be independent, productive and active participants in a society like other individuals in the community.
