Trabzon Taka Music and Folk Dance Youth and Sports Association

Our Association TAKAM was founded in 2002 and has 62 members in the age range of 14-65. Our association was serving young people when it was first established. We then expanded our activities. Adults and children also start participating in our association's activities. Our overall aim is to contribute to the social and cultural development of young people, adults and children and to help them to make the best use of their leisure time. Ataturk's principles and reforms are based on the foundation of the society and its traditions, which absorbed the cultural values of the Turkish society, to contribute to people being able to be examples. In our organization, courses such as horon and other folk dances, piano, kemençe, bağlama, guitar are given for young people, children and adults. One of our two English teachers who are members of our association teaches children to singing songs while the other is helping high school students preparing for a foreign language university exam. At the end of each year, the end of year shows are displayed to show the activities of our courses. In addition, our association's Turkish folk music choir, which has been active for ten years, gives two concerts every year in two terms. Our association also carries out activities for young people from disadvantaged and different races. Last year, trainees in the women's shelter in Trabzon were given folk dancing courses; our trainers have done a great show at the end of the year, working with a group of African students. This demonstration has been reported on national and local channels. In addition, since 2002, our folklore team has been participating in folk dancing contests in Turkey with local horns since 2002. We are one of the first in Turkey, 4 in the local, 3 in the local and 6 in the third.
In addition, our action contact 5 seminar, which we have conducted in February 2006, has been accepted as HAND I HAND and was held on July 20-24 with participants from Spain, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Greece, Poland, Malta and Turkey. Our club's project coordinator participated in the BiTriMulti training, which was organized by the Austrian national agency in 2007, and prepared the Dance Arm in Arm project with its partners. The project was held in Trabzon on April 2-9, 2008, approved by the Turkish National Agency. Our club has become a partner in many projects abroad
