tjfbg gGmbH

The tjfbg (Technische Jugendfreizeit und Bildungsgesellschaft) gGmbH has been founded in 1991 with the aim to connect scientific and technical content with educational concerns. Today the tjfbg is a well developed non profit society and provides activities in many different educational fields with high professional standards.

The tjfbg is recognized by the youth services in the State of Berlin and is active nationwide in various fields of educational work for children, youngsters and disabled people as well as providing training courses for teachers and educators.

Scientific and technical activities as well as multimedia training and integration of people with disabilities are the main activities. A primary focus is our commitment to school, ie cooperation between school and youth and leisure services; day-care centres for children ("Hort"), social work and educational assistance in school and youth clubs.

In these areas, we cooperate today with about 50 primary and secondary schools in Berlin. The tjfbg considers itself as a partner, service provider and supporting organisation of schools. Thanks to these various partnerships, we are in a position to take part of a global approach of education that gives young people the best conditions of development possible.

Another priority area of the tjfbg is the non-formal education in youth centres and especially clubs with technical activities. Since June 2010, the tjfbg has been managing a variety of youth facilities, i.e. „Jugendclub Ikarus“, „Spielhaus Friedrichshagen“, die JFE „Villa Vif“, das Kinder-, Jugend- und Kiezzentrum JuJo in Berlin- Johannisthal, and we welcomed lately the project „Manege“ on Campus Rütli - CR2 and the "Bölscheclub".

Since August 2010 we have been running our own training centre for educators. Operated as an in-service scheme the school requires a part-time employment in the field of education or youth work.
We consider the training of our students as a huge enrichment. And in order to offer even more development opportunities, we initiated in 2013 the creation of our state-approved University of Applied Education (HSAP).
In cooperation with the HSAP we offer the course "Socialwork and all-day schooling" (BA) as a in-service scheme, integrated, dual or work and study in.
Being a service organization for education, care and youth services, the tjfbg has mainly an educational staff. More than 500 teachers and educators and psychologists are working together and, in addition, we welcome 145 volunteers under the guidance of the tjfbg.
