Tigris Development Agency

Tigris Development Agency (Mardin, Batman, Siirt, Şırnak) was founded in 22 November 2008 by the Council of Ministers decision and started its activities in 3 October 2009. Tigris Development Agency is one of the 26 Development Agencies which are coordinated by Ministry of Development.

The Agency is centered in Mardin and carries out regional development activities in the Tigris Region. Our region is located in the middle north part of Tigris River in Upper Mesopotamia where first civilizations were hosted in the history. Silk Road, which is used as key intercontinental route for ages passes through the region.

Having border with Iraq and Syria the Tigris Region is Turkey’s gateway to the Middle East and North Africa.
