The Route 66 Foundation

The Route 66 Foundation is a non-profit organisation working at the crossroads of youth work, ecology and awareness. Since 2016 we have been developing learning environments in a UNESCO-protected valley on Gran Canaria and in the Netherlands. Our programmes combine experiential learning, self-awareness, people–nature connection and inclusive values.

Our work is grounded in non-formal education and ecological practice. We integrate mindfulness-based micro-practices, eco-actions and creative learning cycles. Small groups live and work in a natural environment where learning happens through experience, reflection and community. This approach creates safe and inclusive spaces where youth workers and young adults strengthen resilience, discover talents and develop transferable tools for their own contexts.

The foundation holds the ESC Quality Label as host and lead organisation and has a proven track record in European cooperation. We partner with municipalities, schools, NGOs and eco-initiatives to build sustainable impact. Our vision is to help young people and youth workers shift from ego to eco, from head to heart, and from consumption to creation, shaping resilience and a more inclusive, regenerative Europe.
