The Romanian Institute for Youth Development (IRDT) was founded in 2014 in Timisoara and is presently involved in many projects and partnerships in fields that present interest for the young people. Having a young and dynamic team, the organization aims at a continuous, personal, cultural and professional development of youth.
The Romanian Institute for Youth Development serves as a support organization that helps the development of the local youth organizations. Practically, we organize trainings and workshops with different themes at local level. At European level, we are involved in Erasmus+ based youth exchanges and training courses, coordinating and sending, working with young people from our local community.
The Institute implemented direct activities such as trainings and workshops in areas like project management, organizational management at local level and areas like social inclusion, participation of youth, social and sustainable entrepreneurship, public speaking, communication, leadership, non-formal education at European level through Erasmus+ Programme.
In 2016, IRDT coordinated 3 Erasmus+ youth mobilities:
- Open Your Mind youth exchange (developing entrepreneurial skills in the field of sustainable development among 42 young people from EU)
- Making Growth Sustainable: Social Entrepreneurship (promoting the social entrepreneurship as a sustainable way of businesses among 42 young people from EU)
- Making Growth Sustainable: Green Entrepreneurship (promoting the green entrepreneurship as a sustainable way of businesses among young people from EU)
In 2017 IRDT coordinated 2 Erasmus+ youth mobilities:
- Learning to Speak Your Mind youth exchange (developing knowledge and abilities of public speaking and effective communication skills, among young people from the EU)
- Learning to Speak Your Mind youth exchange (developing knowledge and abilities of argumentation and efficient communication skills, among young people from the EU)
In 2018 IRDT coordinated 2 Erasmus+ youth mobilities:
- Youth and Digital Entrepreneurship (develop entrepreneurial skills in the IT&C/digital field, among young people from the EU)
- Make Your Voice Heard (aims to promote volunteering as a manifestation of active citizenship, solidarity and civic involvement among young people in the EU)
In 2019 IRDT coordinated 5 Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses:
- Take Actions! (aimed to develop the spirit of public participation of young people and to improve civic competences among young people in the European Union)
- Participation is Power (aimed to develop the capacity of youth workers to encourage young people to become active citizens, engaging in structured dialogue and public policy making.)
- Social entrepreneurship for sustainable growth (aimed to develop the social entrepreneurship competences among young people in Europe)
- Get involved (aimed to promote European citizenship and involvement in the civic life of the community through non-formal education for 42 young people from Europe.)
- Enhancing youth entrepreneurship (aimed to develop the necessary skills to increase employability among youth in the EU)
In 2020 we are coordinating 2 projects, an youth exchange and a training course:
- Advocacy to go – youth excange (aims to develop the capacity of partner organizations to advocate for youth issues.)
- Social entrepreneurship is the future - training course (aims to promote social entrepreneurship as a method of contribution to the local community and encouraging participants to take part in increasing the number of social enterprises)
