The locals

“The Locals” is an informal group of young people founded in Athens, Greece,
in 2021 by individuals passionate about non-formal education, environmental
protection, and youth empowerment through active participation.
The main scope of The Locals is to organize local and transnational activities
within the framework of non-formal education, aiming to raise awareness
among young people about important environmental and social issues.
The group aims to:
1. Create opportunities for personal, social, and cultural development for
young people by offering experiences in mobility, learning, volunteering,
and access to information.
2. Promote active citizenship, particularly European citizenship, among young
people.
3. Raise awareness of critical environmental issues and promote sustainable
mobility and commuting practices.
4. Promote human rights, social inclusion, and equality.
5. Provide mobility, learning, volunteering, and information opportunities to
young people with fewer opportunities, with special attention to people
with disabilities.
