In a city with two huge universities, where the total population is 720.000 and approximately 300.000 of this population are young people between 15-30 years old, the overall aim of our youth group is encourage the personal, social development of the young people, increasing social participation among them.
Our youth group provides high quality information and advice concerning Europe to young people and those who work with them, organizes trainings and seminars in order to popularize the information about youth programs.
Within our activities, we promote and apply the principles of tolerance to diversity, open discussion, active initiatives, shared experiences, volunteering, non-formal education and informal learning.
The key for us is to work on both local and international projects that append to each other and we try to cover broad scale of themes and topics according to what our target group finds interesting. We focus mainly on youth participation, youth policy, intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, but also art and culture which we more often utilize as the working method, too.
Our team consists of several voluntary workmates and youth leaders as well as young professionals with various profiles. We are all well-informed about the Erasmus+ Youth Programs. Lots of our members have already experienced on youth exchange programs and EVS as participants and/or project coordinators. Our staffs regularly check and attend the trainings about the youth programs which are organized both by Turkish National Agency in Turkey, and by the other agencies from abroad. Additionally, our team actively working together with Tepebasi Youth Council and Eskisehir Tepebasi Municipality 19 May Youth Center, and our team also responsible to give information about youth programs. Our youth worker(s)/
leader(s) are responsible young people that have experience on participating in similar projects and they have been involved in youth activities that we organize for the local community. They are mentored by the staff of our organization.
As it mentioned above, along with its young and professional staff, the center has already many voluntary workmates, who are mostly university students. The volunteers at the center are regularly organizing many social activities, alongside helping the center’s own projects. As the center of the young population our biggest motivation about Erasmus+ Projects comes from these voluntary acts, in which young people plays important roles and makes great contributions both themselves and the other youngsters.
