ADANA Branch, established in 1997 is one of the branch offices of TEKEV (Technical Education Foundation) founded in 1987. It is a non-profit and non-government organization that aims to contribute to the promotion of the technical and vocational education and to enhance the skills of its members by organizing internal training and giving them the chance to participate in various exchanges, seminars so that they can catch up with the new technology and also to provide young people who have limited financial and social resources with financial support.
We are an organisation which has been involved in many EU projects such as LDV and grant; we are willing to contribute to the personal, social and vocational development of the young people in our community and youth involvement in civic life. With this aim, in 2009 we opened a youth club. We have 190 members aged from 13 to 30. In the club, we formed six main groups to work in the area of youth work and non-formal education. We implement activities in the fields of art and culture, sports, environment, ICT, health, welfare and voluntary work. All the activities are annually planned and realized on a voluntary basis by both members and youth leaders.
Since we are interested in widening the scope of our activities to the national and international level we are also working on youth projects within the framework of Youth in Action Programme in accordance with our objectives. We are an accredited sending and coordinating organisation actively involved in EVS.
