Teen Challenge Uganda

Mission
To help individuals overcome addictions through God’s grace and personal discipleship by dealing with the root cause for recovery and change.

Vision
To help people overcome their life controlling problems.

Programme Intervention areas
Residential Program
The residential home for men not only helps them conquer addictions, transform their lives and actually sustain the livelihood thereof, but it also facilitates them after they have completed the year-long programme/curriculum. Accommodation all year round during the undertaking of the curriculum is provides where those enrolled are kept away from former, old and destructive ways of addiction.

Family Support and Aftercare
The aftercare program includes living free, and crisis centers. Living free is a place where graduates of TCU as well as families and relatives of addicts and alcoholics may get help. The groups mostly meet once a week and sessions are carried out. Prayer, counsel and support are offered for the men in need of help to overcome their addictions as well as emotional support.

Outreach Support, Education and Sensitisation
Crisis centers are stationed in different locations for easy access by prospective students. Schools are reached through the outreach program where focus is on teaching about addiction and deliverance from life controlling behaviour. Implementation is through television, radio as well as conferences and seminars in promotion of the message of refraining from alcohol, any kinds of drugs and abstention from sexual activity.

Treatment Program Linkage
Counselling guidance either on personal or group level (therapy) is offered. Most beneficial are the one-on-one companionships with a counsellor. These episodes of guidance are developmental for those undertaking the program and impinge on a life-long healthy fellowship with community. Partnerships and collaborations for technical and professional support in the management of those on the program have been done with other organisations and institutions that support or manage rehabilitation programmes for the same category
