Team MATCH

We are a voluntary group of people and we are part of non-profit organisation Mozaïek Waalwijk / De Twern. This is a foundation with multiple establishments in Noord-Brabant, a Dutch province. The Twern’s main purpose is to have employees and volunteers engage with people living in the region to improve a town’s or city’s district, to make it a safer and more pleasant place to live. The Twern has several partners and functions and also works as a network between residents and the several facilities of those partners.
As I just mentioned, The Twern has multiple establishments in Noord-Brabant. The establishment I work for is settled in Waalwijk and is called Mozaïek Waalwijk / De Twern. These are our projects in a nutshell:
- Community work; A bridge between residents and organisations.
- District Centrums; People can organise certain activities and meetings here.
- Volunteering
- Information Counter; We can offer answers on questions about authorities, laws and arrangements.
- We offer help to elder people, by supporting them and offering help.
- Youth work

The projects which serves Team MATCH the most interest are volunteering and youth work. Waalwijk is a very multicultural town, which is partly inhabited by youth with different ethnicities. Therefore Mozaïek Waalwijk / De Twern asked for the development of a voluntary group, consisting of and representing youth of all backgrounds. The team consists of 10 volunteers between the age of 18 and 25 years old.

We serve as role models to other youth in our society (at least, we hope we do). The main goals of team MATCH are to help youth get more tolerant and gain a positive image in society. We also promote voluntary work as much as possible.
The particular goals for this year are developing projects, courses and seminars to improve the position of youth in society and help them get a more clear point of view on their own future, especially considering career choice and education.

We as a team organise courses, seminars and other projects, such as exchanges.
