Sur Gençlik Derneği

Sur Youth Association, founded in 2024 by students of Dicle University in Diyarbakır, is a dynamic and innovative NGO inspired by a strong cultural heritage. Its main aim is to support youth development, strengthen civil society, and create opportunities for young people to grow in fields such as law, human rights, environment, climate change, arts, sports, health, technology, and science.

Our mission is to empower young people to become conscious, well-equipped, and active citizens who can positively contribute to society. The association particularly focuses on human rights, children’s rights, gender equality, prevention of child labour, and social justice. Through Erasmus+ projects, Sur Youth Association helps young people gain international experience, intercultural dialogue, and personal development opportunities.

We organise training programmes, workshops, awareness campaigns, and mentoring activities that enhance leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. We also develop projects related to sustainability and ecology, raising awareness of environmental protection, climate change, and animal rights. Furthermore, we support disadvantaged youth by providing scholarships, social inclusion activities, and international networking opportunities.

Our multidisciplinary team consists of lawyers, psychologists, educators, students, and health professionals. This diversity increases the quality and impact of our projects, enabling young people to explore different fields and build their potential. By combining local experience with international cooperation, Sur Youth Association works to strengthen youth participation, foster empathy and intercultural understanding, and prepare future leaders who will drive positive social change.
