The Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH – Innovation Centre “European Projects” is an institution of the Steinbeis-Foundation which was founded by the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg based on a concept first developed by its patron Ferdinand von Steinbeis (1807-1893).
Ferdinand von Steinbeis set up a variety of vocational colleges in the former Kingdom of Württemberg aimed at fostering dual educational and vocational training for young people.
Today the Steinbeis network provides a wide range of services (see our website www.steinbeis.de) and in 1998 the Steinbeis University Berlin was founded providing in its Institutes transfer-oriented research as well as competence-oriented training and employee development.
For more than 20 years the Innovation Centre "European Projects" is accredited as a coordinating and sending organisation in the EVS/ESC program (OID E10206422), for hosting volunteers it cooperates with with several institutions of the german social and health care system like Residential Homes for the Elderly, Kindergarten and Schools for the Disabled, Sheltered Workshops for the Disabeld, local ccooperatives and citizens‘ organisations etc.
Furthermore the Steinbeis innovation gGmbH was promoter in several Grundtvig Learning Partnerships and hosted several particpants of Leonardo da Vinci In-service trainings and job shadowing activities.
