SOS Children’s Village Romania is a member of SOS Kinderdorf International, the biggest charitable organisation in the world, which can be found in 132 countries and which have offered over 1800 programmes and facilities for children during its 60 years of activity.
We offer the chance of a normal life to the children who cannot be looked after by their parents, raising them in a balanced family environment. We do not interrupt their support once they are 18, but we do it when they become independent and autonomous, or when they can go back to their biological families.
And, as it is easier to prevent than to cure, we have developed in parallel programmes which can help families who present abandon risk. The parents are assisted by our specialists and carried towards independence. Thus, the family becomes functional, and children remain in the bosom of their families, where they belong.
