Sonmez Primary School

Sönmez Primary School is an urban school. The school is situated in an area where a real number of pupils live in a more or less disadvantaged quarter. There is the problem of poverty in some families. All classrooms are equipped with technology; each classroom has projector and a computer. Our pupils are well-motivated and high-achieving. Pupils are being encouraged to participate regional and national competitions. Pupils placed in competitions received awards. For instance; first prize in “Environmental Contest”, first prize in “Internet Safety Poster Contest” and various degrees in basketball, volleyball and bangminton. Furthermore, this year Sönmez Primary School received the “White Flag Hygiene Award”. In School, there is a classroom designed for children with special needs.
Industry is strong in Bursa. but it is a central policy in our school that pupils must develop good knowledge of foreign languages, linked with key competencies for employability such as ICT skills, creativity and team-work, in order to increase their chances of finding good jobs in the future. We will take over the coordinating role in the Project. We will take part in all project visits (hosting or attending) and contribute fully to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project at all stages. We are sure that this project will enable pupils to develop good communication skills by interacting creatively with partners across Europe...
