Shokkin Group Estonia

Shokkin Group is a youth organization from Tallinn composed of young people 15-30 years of age, based in or connected to Estonia.

The organization was founded in Oct. 2011 with the main aim of empowering young people of Estonia to live a pro-active lifestyle by providing them with opportunities to develop competencies for personal, professional and social growth.

We are providing an initiative support platform for all young people of Estonia regardless of their nationality, religion, race or any other possible characteristic. Our motto is imagine, inspire, act!

The organization consists of 4 decision-makers & youth workers forming the executive body, followed by 15 youth leaders and youth workers forming the active core group of project based professionals, 20 youth members and an alumni community of over 400 young people from all over Estonia.

Our key topics of work now are: game-based learning, urban arts, youth initiative support, delivery of non-formal learning activities for youth.

Since 2011 Shokkin Group is closely working with the Youth Department of Tallinn & with Tallinn Central Youth Centre implementing local youth projects & events such as Shokkin Kamp, Teeme Ära, Kids Got Moves, Graffiti Festivals, Board game nights, entrepreneurship nights and more.

Since 2013 Shokkin Group has been actively involved in the YIA programme and built a reliable network of local and international partners, with whom we have developed projects connected to game-based learning, youth entrepreneurship, urban arts & outdoor education. We have had several projects mentioned as good practices by various National Agencies.

In 2021 we received “Tallinn’s organization of the year” award for activities during the difficult 2020 year.

Most note-worthy activities of Shokkin Group: "Hoodie Cyphers" - a series of open-air dance battlers. “Critical Escape” – transnational youth initiative for developing educational escape games. “Game On” – international strategic partnership on exploring the use of board games for entrepreneurship education. “Christmas Miracle” – international youth exchange on connecting youth from various religious backgrounds to make charity events in orphanages. “Get Involved” – a series of local youth leader trainings, “Jalatalla” – a program for raising social skills of youth at risk.
