Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering of the University of Murcia (ADyV)

The University of Murcia is the first and oldest public university of the Region of Murcia, founded on March 1915. It currently runs more than 160 qualifications and owns a large community which includes more than 32.000 students.

It counts on five different campuses, all around the Region of Murcia: La Merced Campus, Campus of Espinardo, Campus of Lorca, Health Science Campus and Campus of San Javier. The Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering is located in the Campus of Espinardo, concretely in the building known as the University Social Centre.

The Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering (ADyV) depends on the ‘Vice-Rectorate of Students and Services to the University Community’ of the University of Murcia and it is handling his job since 1995. From then, it has been a national reference in the management of the university volunteering and has seen their functions increased by the adding of the attention to students with disabilities or specific educational needs.

The Service activities are divided into two main areas: the Attention to Diversity area, on the one hand, and the Volunteering area, on the other hand. The Attention to Diversity area responds to the concrete needs of students with disabilities or specific educational needs, giving personalised attention at the same time that it promotes several programs to foster equal opportunities.

The Volunteering area establishes a bridge between the university community and the problems of the society in which it is located, coordinating the participation of students of the University of Murcia in volunteering activities of entities of the Region of Murcia. To that purpose, it has agreements with around 100 associations and 20 municipal councils, and presents on its platform an offer of around 200 volunteering projects divided into eleven fields.
