Mission of the Organization, and Past Performance
Mission of the SG”Krste Jon” –Struga is to contribute in the development of the young people in achieving their complete Physical, intellectual, moral and social potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and members of their local and national communities as well as the international communities.

The Scout Group “Krste Jon”-Struga was founded in the early 1960s.
The Green Center in Struga was established in 1998 as a part of the Scout Group “Krste Jon”-Struga.
Three Green Centers near Lake Ohrid in Macedonia and Albania where started as a part of the "Project for Conservation of the Ohrid Lake", financed by World Bank and Regional Environmental Center (REC) -Budapest. The primary intended function of these centers was to start a network for exchanging information about the conditions of the lake in these three towns located on the bank of Lake Ohrid. Green Centers were also effective in expanding environmental education, gathering information’s about the quality of the environment and revealing and reporting environmental problems to the authorities. After the two-year project period, REC financing stopped.
Today, Green Center Struga is the only center still in operation due to successful fundraising efforts and help from Scout Club “Krste Jon”. The main activities are non-formal environmental education of young people and environmental awareness campaigns.
Because of the close relationship between the Green Center and the scout group, the primary target groups of Green Center are young people who participate in scout competitions, summer and winter educational and recreational camps on different subjects like multicultural society, environment, arts etc.
Our Scout house is on the coast of Ohrid Lake and is ideal for starting point for our activities. In our Scout house we have opportunities to prepare food and accommodate about 50 people in house (We have ten rooms with four beds and one room with ten beds, kitchen with all necessary equipment) and place for 50 tents and accommodation about 100 people. Offices in Scout House are full equipped with computers, printer, TV and video, digital photo, internet connections. There is 3 part time employee persons with part time. We have also canoe, boat and equipment for activities on the water.
For activities in mountains we use our scout center in the mountain Jablanica (about 1500 m.s.l.) ideal start point for hiking on the nearest picks high more than 2250 meters. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Stone,_Jablanica)
