Satu Mare Prison

Social reintegration department staff of  Satu Mare Penitentiary is expert in different areas: psychology, sociology, law, social work, education, theology and sports.
The beneficiaries of our services are young men and adults aged over 21 years.
Satu Mare  Penitentiaty acts locally, regionally and nationally.
           Specialists from the social reintegration departament evaluate individually each prisoner, identify their needs and proposes an intervention plan for the entire duration of the sentence which aims literacy, schooling, professional qualifications and personal development of prisoners.
          The staff takes care not only of learning and lifelong education of prisoners but also of  the development of their professional careers by attending courses organized by the National Administration of Penitentiarys and the Ministry of Justice.
          Satu Mare Penitentiary permanently maintains contact with the community and community institutions by his educational sector.
There are signed partnerships between Satu Mare Penitentiary and organizations which act locally, centrally or international .
          In the last 3 years, Satu Mare Penitentiary has participated in various national and international projects by the program POSDRU funded by the Ministry of European Funds.
          Satu Mare Penitentiary is a public institution in which works people who are specialists in reintegration of the  incarcerated prisoners at their release. By various programs and services according to the needs identified, by methods and techniques of non-formal education, it is tried the transformation of the prisoners in responsible citizens that would not break the law(or to relapse).
          Satu Mare Penitentiary works with teachers from the public education system, with trainers and volunteers from various NGOs.
          In Satu Mare Penitentiary we are able to attend school up to class VIII. We also work with CNFPA (National Authority for Certification in Adult Education- National Centre for Adults Proffessiol Training) which help us to qualify professionally the prisoners who do not have a job.
