Our organisation is Sakarya Cemil Meriç Social Science High School is a special school that it doesn't have a ring or uniform.
Our students know when they must come to class or how to clothe, they have self-control. The school is for 5 years cause it has preparation class.

Vision: To be a school that educated individuals who will realize a civilization project with its historical and cultural values that reaf the future and design the future today.
Mision: We are dedicated to educate intellectual individuals who perform themselves in a contemporary educational environment.

The school is very tiny that it has 22 teachers and 337 students. The second language is German, it also has many traditional activities such as:

Theater: Directors and all actors are students, they do everything themselves professionally. Every prep class has to perform a professional theater end of the year. For that, they work hard whole year.

Novel Heroes Festival
In this festival students dress like the character they imagine in novels for a week. School is decorated based on the character and the books theme. In addition, our novel heroes do not only represent characters by the appearance, but also perform certain parts of the novel.

Dagci’nin Sozu
All activities in Cemil Meric Social Sciences High School is purely student-centered such as Dagci’nin Sozu. In the event, moderator chooses a book and talks about it.

Fikir Tulûatı
It’s an activity similar to Dagci’nin Sozu but comes up as a higher level, and this time students talk about a general topic. Again, organised 2 times in a week. Moderators determine their subject, conducts their researches and shares some resources to the participants to have an effective voice in the activity. The participants read, evaluate and discuss the resources with the moderator. It was organised more than 120 times that it became a tradition.

SIIR ANSIZIN (Poetry Discussing)
In this activity students talk about a topic which moderator chooses about poetry and poets.

SCIENCE CLUB
In this activity the moderators share their information and researchers to group and discuss about science. It helps get to know the real maths and scientists’ life.

WORKSHOPS
In workshops research is done on a topic leaded by a moderator, discussed and a final declaration would be prepared. Our school mostly organise social sciences workshops.

TÜBİTAK PROJECTS

Since our school is a project School, has project preparation lessons in the 9th grade and students, send their own projects to TÜBİTAK every year. 87 projects are sent in 2018 and around 50 projects in 2019. Some of them received degrees for example from sociology department "Sociological Analysis of Social Exclusion Level of Turks living in Austria Second Generation (İnssburk-Reuter Example)" project.

COMPETITIONS

Our school is attending competitions organized by various institutions poetry story short film and so on. Has an important place in competitions. Especially in poetry storu and short film competitions, we have awarded students

TURKISH ENGLISH DEBATE
Our debate team have discussions both in English and Turkish, counselled by an English teacher. It's an important part of our school's activities. In particular, these debates, which agenda issues are discussed, develop the skills of self-expression, addressing society, and gain competence in the academic field.

SAIT FAIK ABASIYANIK FESTIVAL

Sait Faik Abasiyanik is a famous and important Turkish author. This festival is organised by our school, which contains performing part of the novels and clothing like the characters in the author's book, of course the school was decorated too. Till there, it sounds pretty similar to novel characters festival but the difference is in this festival students only chose characters chose from books by Sait Faik Abasiyanik.
Students visited Sait Faik Abasiyanik Park and read his books there.

CONFERENCES
Conferences are simply explained by someone who has knowledge about something and gives information and tells about their experiences to people who knows less about it. As high school students, we surely need life experience and information. Mostly the person gives the conference is a professor and may talk about economy, social sciences, literature and environment etc. Sometimes conferences are given 2 times a day, sometimes at least 15-16 times in a month. Conferences helps the students to have an idea about the issue if they don't have any, if they do, it helps their thoughts to be wide and clear.

CMUN’19
In CMUN'19, we hosted 125 students from 21 schools with the participation of students from schools such as Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School. The most important point of this workshop is that the participants speak English completely during the event. Each participant is also appointed as a delegate to a member country of the United Nations. The workshop discusses issues such as Nuclear Disarmament and Equality of Health Conditions all over in the world, and plays an active role in making new friends and acquiring the ability to speak in public.

CMLTALKS
The CML Talks event, which we started last year at our school, is actualizes once a fortnight by volunteer speakers presenting a topic of their choice to the audience. Although the speakers and listeners of the event are mostly high school students for now, it is aimed to address all age groups with the same sincerity in the following times.

At the end of the year, the speakers selected from those who made their speeches throughout the year, preach out their ideas to a wider audience which includes our guests from different schools. As it was done last year, graduates of our school and some surprise guests are invited as special speakers.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Our school organizes numerous cultural trips every year. Trips to usually museums and historical places. Sometimes go to the place mentioned in the literature books . These trips, which are eagerly awaited and attracted by the students, are carried our with accompanied of the accumulated teachers in our school.

IDEA AND DEBATE CLUB
It is the first club officially established in our school. The idea and debate club was founded to proovide students with intellectual background and support their development in the field of critical thinking. After developing their theorietical background, they are trained to gain succes in practical though debate. The club also supports and hosts conferences in many different areas, intellectual activities within the school, journals, poetry recitals, and choirs. Thus, this club which is the most active formation of our school, aims to maintain the tradition of social sciences and students spirit.
